When to Use Special Comp form vs Appointment Form:

  • Do all of the employee's appointments, when taken together, add up to 100% of time?
    • Yes - Use the Special Comp form
    • No - Will the activity be ongoing?
      • Yes - An Appointment may be more appropriate
      • No - Use the Special Comp form

When not to use:

  • To compensate a non-UI employee, see Payroll Voucher.
  • To compensate Research Subjects (employee & non-employee), use UI E-Voucher.
