General Education Program. Cultural Diversity (see course list) is one of the areas in which students may earn credit in the Distributed General Education component of the General Education Program.

Diversity and multiculturalism are integral aspects of most CLAS academic programs in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. The academic programs listed here are those that have a central defining focus on minority or historically suppressed perspectives.

University of Iowa Diversity Links

UI Diversity Resources. First stop for locating diversity resources at The University of Iowa. Includes links to administrative offices, councils and committees, disability resources, women's resources, ethnic and cultural organizations, and other campus diversity groups.

Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity. This office supports and enhances the University's commitment to recruiting and retaining a diverse academic community of faculty, staff, and students.

Opportunity at Iowa. This program, a part of the Office of the Provost, is a coordinated university-wide effort to create and maintain campus diversity and to provide opportunities for all University students interested in other cultures. The website includes an extensive listing of on-campus diversity organizations.
