I am delighted to announce that Esther Baker begins her appointment as the College’s new external relations director today, July 1.

Esther Baker has extensive experience in external relations, having served as director of public relations for the Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Ithaca, N.Y. from 1999 to 2003 and as information coordinator for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University from 1985 to 1999. She holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in communication from Michigan State University, and worked as news director at radio stations in East Lansing, Mich.

Esther comes to the College from a position as deputy director of UI’s Iowa Tobacco Research Center in the College of Public Health.
