General Personnel Policies
The DEO is responsible for seeing that the department is in compliance with state and federal laws that affect faculty and non-academic staff and for administering the personnel policies stated in the University Operations Manual. These include
- the Disability Protection Policy (Operations Manual, III-7; see also www.uiowa.edu/~hrpersvc/fsds),
- the Parental Leave Policy (Operations Manual, III-22.8), and
- the University procedures for implementing the Family and Medical Leave Act (Operations Manual, III-22.7, see also www.uiowa.edu/~hrpersvc/relations/fmlaref.html).
