Phased Retirement Program

To be eligible for the Phased Retirement Program, a P&S staff   member must be at least 57 years old and must have been employed by the Board of Regents for at least 15 years. A Merit staff member must be at least 60 years old and employed by the Board of Regents for at least 20 years. Under this program, the staff member may continue to be employed less than full time for up to five years and may hold an appointment of up to 65 percent time during the phasing period.

The program includes salary and fringe benefits incentives (for complete information consult Staff Benefits, 120 University Services Building). The staff member and the department must negotiate a mutually acceptable schedule for phased retirement, and the request must be approved by the department, the Dean, and the Associate Vice President for Finance and University Services.
