Performance Review- P&S and Merit Staff
All University staff members should be aware of the expectations of his or her position as well as how they will be evaluated. To obtain a detailed explanation on the University performance review's purpose, philosophy, and policy, please visit Peformance Review for University Staff.
Following are recommended guidelines for the annual evaluation process:
- Staff to complete the CLAS Employee Self-Evaluation template (.doc) and provide a copy to their supervisor prior to Performance Evaluation Review meeting. See Guidelines for Staff.
- Supervisor to complete the CLAS P&S Performance Evaluation form (.doc) or the CLAS Merit Performance Evaluation form (.doc). See Guidelines for Supervisors.
- Staff member and supervisor discuss performance objectives for the past year and the coming year, and identify what is necessary for the staff member’s professional development.
- Both parties sign the review. The review and its attachments, including the staff member’s response to the review (if any), become part of the staff member’s personnel file. The staff member also receives a copy of the review.
After the review is complete, the departmental HR representative should enter the date in the HRIS system: log on to Employee Self-Service, HR Applications tab, Online Update, Performance Appraisal. Note: Compliance reporting will be considered a part of the evaluation process for every dean, executive officer, manager, and supervisor (DUE: JUNE 30, 2007).
