MEDIA ADVISORY: Tour of Studio Arts -- formerly Menards -- set for Aug. 27
WHAT: University of Iowa officials will lead a post-flood media tour of the University of Iowa's Studio Arts facility, formerly Menards, at 1375 Highway 1 West.
WHEN: 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27. Media should meet outside the front entrance of the building.
WHO: The tour will be guided by Steve McGuire, professor in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences' School of Art and Art History; Dorothy Johnson, director of the School of Art and Art History; Dan Brackett, Iowa City Menards Store Manager; and Mike and David Hodge and Kevin Digmann of Hodge Construction.
WHY: To provide an opportunity for members of the media to witness firsthand and photograph and videotape the progress made on a building being used temporarily by faculty, staff and students while buildings on the arts campus undergo flood-related repairs and mitigation.
