Cello Daze includes free concerts on the UI campus Sept. 12 and 13
Cello Daze, the annual get-together of the Iowa Cello Society, will include free concerts on the University of Iowa campus Sept. 12 and 13.
Guest artists Tony Ross, principal cellist of the Minnesota Orchestra; Melissa Kraut, a former Preucil School teacher who is now a faculty member at the Cleveland Institute of Music; and Iowa native Gregory Sauer, a faculty member at Florida State University will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in 180 Music Building West (the atrium of the former Museum of Art).
A performance by the Cello Choir -- a mass ensemble of at least 40 cellos -- at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, in the same location, will be followed by a reception at which the public can meet the artists.
