Agenda of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Faculty Assembly

The Faculty Assembly will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2003, in 40 Schaeffer Hall.

Please sign one of the attendance sheets available at the door.

1. Discussion/amendment/approval of the minutes of the October 15 meeting of the Faculty Assembly.

2. Proposal to reduce the "add" period. The Educational Policy Committee submits the attached proposal to reduce the “add” and the “drop-without-a-W” period from 15 class days to 10 class days during the fall and spring semesters and to a comparable period during summer and winter sessions. The proposal comes to the Assembly as a motion already made and seconded.

3. College's draft self-study. The Assembly is asked to discuss and approve the College's self-study, which will be the basis for the review of the CLAS to be conducted by the Office of the Provost in the spring semester.

4. Proposal on athletic reform. The proposal on athletic reform approved by the Assembly last spring was sent to the Faculty Senate, but died as a motion on the Senate floor for lack of a second. The Assembly will discuss whether to send the proposal directly to President Skorton.
