Hiring Process
With extenuating circumstances and appropriate justification a department may request a waiver of the search process.
To request a waiver the DEO or Administrator must submit to the CLAS Director of Human Resources
- A letter requesting a waiver of the affirmative action search process stating the reasons for the request.
- The position title and class code proposed.
- The position description.
- A copy of the resume or curriculum vitae of the person for whom the waiver is sought.
If the waiver request is approved, the department/hiring unit must submit a Form D Recruitment Summary and a copy of the offer letter. Waivers are not processed electronically. Salary approval from the Compensation and Classification Unit of Human REsources is required if the proposed salary exceeds the first quartile.
