The Staff Recognition Committee is pleased to announce the following IOWA recipients.

Improving Our Workplace Awards - Spring 2007

Mark Fullenkamp, Virginia (Ginny) Ockenfels & Rethy Krishnamurthy, CLAS Administration Office
Mark, the College's web coordinator along with Rethy and Ginny developed a portion of the CLAS website devoted to "Shared Governance in CLAS". The team included links to faculty and student governance information as well as staff governances. These pages give staff a stronger voice, better information, and a clearer opportunity to be involved in shared governance. The pages also publicize to the University as a whole the role that staff, faculty, and students play in shared governance. The team was nominated by Nancy Fick.

Nancy, a member of the Merit Review Committee assisted in the development of a new position classification, the Professional departmental Assistant, to close a gap in position classifications and had it approved by the Board of Regents.
