Mary Louise Kelley Professional Development Awards
The Mary Louise Kelley Professional Development Awards support the commitment of the College's staff to job-related continuing education, training, and professional activity. Staff members in the College apply for this award to help defray the costs of course work, workshops, training opportunities on or off campus, or attendance at regional, national, or international meetings.

Sue Otto, Associate Director, Language Media Center to attend the WorldCALL 2008 Conference to be held in Fukuoka, Japan. WorldCALL (World Computer Assisted Language Learning) is an international conference held every five years. Sue currently serves on the WorldCALL steering committee and is a member of the 2008 Program Committee. She plans to present a paper at this conference. Participation and attendance allows Sue to maintain many international contacts and receive up-to-date global perspectives on the advancement of CALL in other countries. |

This organization promotes and supports quality academic advising in institutions of higher education to enhance the educational development of students. Phil Ecklund, Program Associate I in the department of Biological Sciences to attend the national conference of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) held in Baltimore, Maryland. This organization promotes and supports quality academic advising in institutions of higher education to enhance the educational development of students. The subjects covered at this conference enhance Phil’s knowledge and job performance by covering such topics as modern technology and its uses in advising and recruiting, ESL and related topics, advising international students, religious beliefs and academic advising, advisor development, early warning system development for students at risk, and student retention. |
