SUMMARY OF UI & CLAS WEB SITE STANDARDS FOR COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS & SCIENCES DEPARTMENTS

President Skorton approved a set of University-wide standards for web sites on June 1, 2003.  In order to ensure that the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences departmental web sites are as useful as possible, all websites must conform to the following standards.  In the first part of this document we have summarized the required university standards as approved by President Skorton, and in second part we have stated the Collegiate standards developed for the College. Details for University wide web site standards can be viewed at: http://www.uiowa.edu/graphics/web_standards/index.html.

In planning your web site, please carefully consider issues of maintenance – it is often better not to have “extras”, than to have them become out of date.  The University’s standards require accurate information that is updated in a timely manner. See http://www.uiowa.edu/graphics/web_standards/long-term/index.html#accuracy.
