Earning a DegreeThe College of Liberal Arts and Sciences awards Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Bachelor of Liberal Studies (BLS), and Bachelor of Music (BM) degrees. A degree may be earned with one or more majors; minors and certificates may also be added to a degree. A student may also earn more than one degree, such as a BA and a BS. Two degrees may be earned from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, or one degree from the College and a second degree from another of the University's colleges. (Additional requirements, however, apply.) Requirements for earning a degree from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences include the completion of a major (the BLS degree is awarded with no major designation); completion of the General Education Program; satisfaction of the residence requirement; completion of a minimum of 120 s.h.; and meeting the College's academic standards (earning satisfactory grade point averages). |
