Student Academic Handbook

Foreign Civilization and Culture

Courses provide students with knowledge about one or more foreign civilizations, cultures, or societies outside of the United States. The courses are designed to stimulate student interest in further study of foreign civilizations, cultures, and societies and to foster international and intercultural understanding.

Students may use 3 s.h. of course work approved in this area to partially complete the Distributed General Education component of the General Education Program.

Course List
Effective Fall 2005, the Department of German has retitled 13E:017. The new title is Medieval German Literature: Heroic and Erotic. The department has also established a "concurrent course" for majors, numbered 13E:117. Students who have taken the course in the past under the old title should not retake the course. Majors who have taken the lower level course should consult the department.
