Social Sciences

Courses in this area focus on human behavior and the institutions and social systems that shape and are shaped by that behavior. Courses provide an overview of one or more social science disciplines, their theories, and methods.

All students must complete at least 3 s.h. of course work approved in this area. Students may use a second 3 s.h. of course work approved in this area to partially complete the Distributed General Education component of the General Education Program.

Course List

Effective Fall 2005, the Department of Health & Sport Studies has removed 028:075 from the list of courses approved for Social Sciences. The course 169:140 Health for Living has also been removed from the Social Sciences list. The course has been approved in the Health and Physical Activity area under the number 169:045. Students who took the course under the 169:140 number should not take it under the 169:045 number.
Also, effective Fall 2005, the Department of Anthropology will offer 113:003 only for 3 s.h.
